At that moment, Ruud and Irma ten Have decided to take the plunge. They traded the security of their jobs for a dream: their own sauna at Het Hulsbeek. A year and a half later, in 1985, Saré opened its doors. Wellness was far from being as commonplace then as it is today.
Ruud still remembers that first opening well: "We were incredibly nervous. What will people think? What if nobody comes?"
Those worries proved unfounded. From the very beginning, guests found their way to Saré, and the personal atmosphere that still characterizes our business was born.

Challenges also arose. A major fire, economic uncertainty, the coronavirus period, and the energy crisis demanded resilience and perseverance. Thanks to the commitment of our team and the loyalty of our guests, Saré continued to develop.
Eventually, daughter Britt and son Sten also returned to the business. Today, they continue to build on the foundation laid by their parents over 40 years ago.

Saré Wellness is located in the heart of the green surroundings of Het Hulsbeek, one of Twente's most beautiful recreational areas. Surrounded by forest, water, and expansive nature, this environment has been an important part of the wellness experience for many years.

From the sauna, you look out over the greenery, during a cooling moment you experience the fresh outdoor air, and on our terraces you enjoy the surroundings in complete peace. It's precisely this combination of wellness and nature that makes Saré special.
Saré Wellness has been a true family business for over 40 years. What once began with Ruud ten Have's dream — to create a place in Twente where peace, warmth, and relaxation come together — is still carried on today with the same dedication.
Behind Saré stands a close-knit and experienced team with a great passion for wellness and hospitality. What's particularly special is that several of our employees have been with the company since its opening in 1985. This loyal core has been the familiar face of Saré for many years and passes on the knowledge, experience, and personal atmosphere from generation to generation.
At the same time, new generations bring fresh energy, new ideas, and a different perspective on wellness. Young and old complement each other, and it's precisely this combination that makes our team strong. We are a place with a horizontal structure, where hard work is done, but where there's also plenty of room for conviviality, humor, and having fun together. Because at Saré, we do it together.
