The World of Wellness
A first visit to the sauna can take some getting used to. What do you bring with you? How long do you stay in a sauna? And what does a good sauna round actually look like?
At Saré, we believe in the traditional way of sauna. No rush and no round visiting as many facilities as possible, but consciously taking time for warmth, cooling, and rest. A simple rhythm that forms the basis of the Scandinavian sauna tradition.
There is no fixed program that you must follow exactly. Listen to your body, take your time, and above all discover what feels good for you.
If you visit the sauna regularly, you'll probably recognize it immediately. That satisfied feeling after a good sauna round. Your body feels relaxed, your mind is calm, and at the same time you have new energy.
During a sauna session, your body is working hard. Your heart rate rises, you start to perspire, and your body reacts to the heat. This is followed by fresh outdoor air, cold water, and eventually rest.
The feeling sometimes reminds you of the moment after intense physical exertion. Not because sauna is the same as exercise, but because your body has experienced many different sensations in a short time. Heat. Perspiring. Fresh air. Cold water. Rest.
It is precisely this alternation that brings your attention out of your head and back to your body. Energetic and satisfied at the same time. That is the real sauna feeling for us.

The basis of a sauna round is simple: warm up, cool down, and recover. A complete round takes an average of 1.5 to 2 hours. That doesn't mean you're in the sauna all that time. It's precisely the time between the heat that's part of the experience.
A sauna and steam room both work with heat, but feel very different. In a sauna, the air is warm and relatively dry. By pouring water on the hot stones, löyly is created: the warm steam and heat wave that spreads through the cabin.
A steam room, on the other hand, has high humidity and a lower temperature. Because of the humid air, the heat can still feel intense. Try both and discover what your body needs at that moment.

For some guests, it's not the heat, but the idea of going to the sauna without swimwear that's the most exciting part of a first visit. Often the reality turns out to be very different from the image you had beforehand.
During a wellness day, you're actually covered most of the time. You walk around in your bathrobe or with a towel around you, and even while resting or eating, you wear your bathrobe. Only when you use a sauna, bath, or other facility are you without swimwear.
We regularly hear from guests who were apprehensive about this beforehand, only to find it went much better than expected. They're often surprised by how little attention is actually paid to nudity. Everyone comes with the same goal: to relax.
Give yourself time to get used to it. You only remove your bathrobe when you enter a facility and then simply wrap your towel around you again or put your bathrobe back on.

The hottest sauna is not automatically the best. Start mild and discover how your body reacts.
Staying longer doesn't mean you get more out of the sauna. Go outside when your body asks for it.
Heat and cooling go together. Take plenty of time to cool down after each sauna session.
The moments between sauna sessions are at least as important as the heat itself.
Through perspiration, you lose moisture. Drink water regularly throughout the day.
During a sauna infusion, water and scents are used on the sauna stove and the sauna master spreads the warm air through the cabin. A special way to experience sauna. Choose a spot on the lower bench and close to the exit so you can easily leave the cabin when you want to.
For a wellness day, you don't need much. Bring a bathrobe, slippers, and plenty of towels. In the sauna, you always lay a towel completely under your body, so your feet don't touch the wooden benches either.
Phones, smartwatches, and other electronic devices are not permitted in the wellness area. So if you really want to be completely offline, leave your phone and smartwatch at home. Together we protect the peace and privacy of our guests.
There is no perfect wellness day. Maybe you especially enjoy the warmth of a sauna. Maybe you discover how pleasant the alternation with cold water can be. Or maybe you'd rather spend most of the day with a book by the fireplace without external stimuli.
Take your time. Try different facilities and discover what works for you. Wellness according to Saré ultimately comes down to something very simple: warmth, cooling, and rest. Sometimes the body needs to work a bit before the mind can truly rest.
